Beneath Restaurant Harpoon lies a historic wine cellar, set within a monumental building on Oude Molstraat 30D. The history of this location dates back to the 16th century, when a house first stood here, long before the street became part of the vibrant Hofkwartier.
The cellar itself is a restored 16th-century space, accessed via the original stone staircase. Characterized by its vaulted ceilings and centuries-old masonry, it once served as storage for wine and spirits when the surrounding buildings were used by a distillery and wine merchant in the late 19th and early 20th century.
Today, this atmospheric cellar has been carefully brought back to life as an intimate private dining space. Surrounded by history, stone walls, and bottles, it offers a unique setting for small gatherings, private dinners, and special occasions, quietly tucked away beneath the restaurant.
This historic wine cellar is now available for private dining.
